If you are anything like me, you may have a rather large foundation collection that goes beyond trends. The heart of my makeup stash lies in the carefully curated foundations that may be overwhelming to many. As I age and the climate shifts, my skin requires a different kind of love during winter. Join me as I unveil the magic behind my top gems for the winter in my foundation wardrobe.
1. Kevin Foundation Balm: Kicking off the winter revelry is the Kevin Foundation Bomb. Its delicate touch of light moisture not only nourishes but also aligns seamlessly with the winter’s chill. The winter-friendly color adds an extra layer of radiance, making it a staple in my collection as the temperatures drop.
2. Becca Ultimate Coverage 24-Hour Foundation: A discontinued gem that refuses to fade away, the Ultimate Coverage 24-Hour Foundation makes a bold statement in my winter lineup. Its extra coverage becomes a winter indulgence, providing a flawless finish that stands resilient against the seasonal demands.
3. Juvia’s Place Velvet Matte Foundation: This full coverage foundation is indeed rotated in my collection. This foundation creates a flawless canvas, offering the confidence boost needed to face the chilly days with style and an amazing price point.
4. Hourglass Vanish Seamless Liquid Foundation: Though this foundation was a very late purchase for me, the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Liquid Foundation indeed was worth the hype. I recalled using this foundation during the summer but it appears to provide a more natural glow during the winter.
5. Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation: A reliable ally in my beauty arsenal, the Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation stands tall for its consistent shade matching during each new release. Winter brings a subtle shift in shades, allowing me to embrace a perfect match that enhances my skin tone flawlessly.
6. Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Foundation: Balancing between shades, the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Foundation has a dual identity. While it may lean a bit oily in the summer, it’s perfect to wear during the other times of the year. The formula’s luminosity adds a touch of elegance that resonates with the winter season.
7. Makeup by Mario Surreal Skin Foundation: Navigating between seasons, the Makeup by Mario Surreal Skin Foundation found its sweet spot during winter. Its ability to mimic the natural look of skin shines brighter when my complexion isn’t battling the excess oil that summer brings. Honestly, since this foundation shade is slightly darker for me during the winter, I would usually mix this one with another lighter foundation for a more ideal match.
8. Huda Beauty Filter Luminous Matte Foundation: In the shade Chocolate Mousse, the Huda Beauty Filter Luminous Matte Foundation becomes a winter revelation for me. Offering impeccable coverage and a luminous matte finish, it’s the go-to choice when I want my skin to look flawless amidst the winter wonderland.
9. Fenty Beauty Hydrating Longwear Foundation: While not stealing the spotlight as it once did, the Fenty Beauty Hydrating Longwear Foundation remains a fond memory. I must admit that I had purchased at Sephora as a markdown item. Its ability to hydrate without feeling oily becomes a subtle winter indulgence when my skin needs that extra boost.
10. MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Fluid Foundation: A timeless classic, the MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Fluid Foundation stands strong amidst newer contenders. Straddling between NC 47 and NC 50, this foundation adapts to the changing seasons, reminding me of its reliability even in the face of newer formulas.
11. Gucci Natural Finish Fluid Foundation: Amidst mixed reviews, the Gucci Natural Finish Fluid Foundation claims its spot in my winter ensemble. Despite not being the perfect shade match, its coverage and hydration make it a winter favorite, enhancing my complexion with just the right touch.
12. Cover FX Total Coverage Cream Foundation: In the realm of sparingly used treasures lies the Cover FX Total Coverage Cream Foundation. While not the ultimate favorite, its shade matches and the undeniable joy of hitting pan make it a testament to my journey through the world of makeup. A vintage delight that still holds its ground.
Many of the above suggestions are currently in my collection which I am on a foundation no-buy. Besides, my current foundation wardrobe really needs some love and what better way to re-incorporate them into rotation than to use these during the cool months. Many of these would not be the best for me to use during the warmer months due to my oilier than normal skin, however, they are excellent for winter use. The journey through my winter wonderland of foundations is a celebration of diversity, resilience, and the timeless allure of makeup.
